Cinnamon is an incredibly delicious spice, but it's also a powerful antioxidant, has anti-inflammatory properties, lowers blood sugar levels, and may even have beneficial effects on neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. It's safe to say that this yummy spice is and should be a staple in your diet as a way to help keep a balanced mind, body and spirit. Keep reading for a decadent Moon Milk elixir recipe to help you feeling healthy and in harmony!
I stumbled into this recipe by accident when I was trying out tea lattes at home on a blustery snow day a few years ago. I'm a big fan of coffee drinks, especially since I used to work as a barista and traveling promotor for a local coffee company a few years back. But even though I love everything about coffee, I can't drink it as often as I'd like, so I started experimenting with tea lattes. When I make a drink, I have to make it fancy, I can't help it. After brewing most of the ingredients together, zipping it in the blender, or using a mini electric hand whisk really makes this a velvety, frothy instagram worthy beverage fit for the Queen that you are! This simple, yet healthy elixir is so soothing and nourishing I can't wait for you to give it a try!
Ingredients
1 cup almond milk or other unsweetened nut milk (such as hemp or cashew)
1 bag of Cinnamon Vanilla Healthy Skin Tea by Yogi Tea
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon Honey
1/2 teaspoon coconut oil, coconut butter, ghee, or grass fed butter
dash of organic ground cinnamon
dash of organic ground nutmeg
dash of organic cardamom
1 tsp Ashwagandha powder
10-15 drops CBD tincture
Instructions
Bring almond milk to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Reduce heat to low and steep bag of Cinnamon Vanilla Healthy Skin Tea by Yogi Tea in the milk for 4 minutes. Remove the tea bag and pour milk into a high-speed blender along with the rest of the ingredients. Blend on high until it is smooth and creamy. Pour into a mug, drink warm, and enjoy. That’s it! Double this recipe and share with a friend. I can't wait to make a cup for my moon ceremony.
Note* Because the ingredients in this recipe have incredible anti-inflammatory benefits and so much more, this is a great recipe to make and enjoy before your Moon Cycle to help with body aches and to keep your skin bright and beautiful and blemish free!
